The story behind the Quantum Pad
An excellent Close-up Pad not only enhances a magician’s performance but also assists in executing sleight-of-hand moves. We have developed numerous tech-based Close-up Pads, but we have always been on the lookout for more possibilities.
Towards the end of 2022, Mental Tom approached us with a submission for a tech-based Close-up Pad that could create magical effects involving double appearances and transformations. Combining this concept with our initial ideas, we designed this brand-new Close-up Pad, that is suitable for small theater performances, parlor shows, and customized routines.
Now in 2024, we create the Quantum Pad. This extraordinary magic mat redefines the art of prestidigitation by effortlessly making objects vanish into thin air, conjuring them into existence, and transforming them into entirely different items, all seemingly by the power of magic.
The Fabric
The bottom support is made from high-quality oak, while the top surface features a special black velvet fabric. From the initial development, we tested over 20 different fabrics. We needed to find a fabric that would not show marks even after being cut, and then we take the final perfected edition.
The Sound
The Quantum Pad boasts a sliding track mechanism, a quiet motor, and precise lifting components, ensuring smooth and silent operation. The mechanical system is highly stable, with a bidirectional remote control that allows for precise handling.
The preeminent mechanical system makes the pad achieve relative “silence” in typical performing environments. It means you can perform a parlor table magic trick and the audience won’t be conscious of what has happened under the pad.
But that doesn’t mean it can allow the audience to watch very closely, even touch and check. The Quantum Pad is more about allowing you to showcase more powerful magic in filming videos, stage projections, and theater performances.
This wooden close-up pad goes beyond basic effects like appearances, transformations, or transpositions. It is perfect for integrating into your tabletop routines, allowing for repeated use and customized magic that reflects your unique style.

Precautions: The white button on the chip serves as the power switch. It should be turned on during use and switched off when not in use.
