The Half Crown Killer is a chilling story centred around a serial killer who left half crowns on the eyes of his victims. In the performance, a newspaper clipping is introduced and left on the table. The spectator is then asked to close their eyes and hold onto a coin, which the audience can clearly see is an old copper coin.

When the spectator opens their eyes, they’re asked to recall the coin’s date and type. Although the audience saw a copper coin, the spectator describes a silver crown with a different date. Finally, when the newspaper clipping is opened, it eerily reveals the exact date and coin type that the spectator reported, matching the details of the mysterious Half Crown Killer.
