Double Cross ACAAN by Tommaso Guglielmi
Double Cross ACAAN: A Double Impromptu ACAAN-Style Effect Summary
Tommaso Guglielmi’s Double Cross ACAAN is a magic effect blending “Do as I do” and ACAAN (Any Card at Any Number) principles, designed for remote performance via video chat using two decks (one with the magician, one with the spectator). Below is a concise overview of its key components:
Effect Overview
The magician and spectator each use their own deck. They shuffle, then select cards by mirroring actions:
- The spectator stops the magician’s dribbling deck to “choose” a card (revealed as the bottom of the stopped stack).
- The spectator repeats this process for the magician to select a card from their deck.
Both mentally note the top position of their selected card in their own deck, then perform cuts and a dealing/shuffling phase (using Paul Curry’s “Swindle Switch Shuffle” to reverse card order) to “lose” the position. They place their selected card face-down, then “mentally swap” cards and imagine placing them in each other’s deck at their noted positions. The climax reveals: the magician’s selected card is in the spectator’s deck at his noted position, and vice versa.
