In this session, Paul shares some easy, powerful routines that get the most out of simple methods. These tricks are great for getting spectators involved and letting you focus more on your audience. How We Met “How We Met” is an incredible coincidence routine with multiple decks and spectators. This strong, semi-automatic routine is exactly what we love about Paul Wilson.
The Pit of Me The magician reads the spectator’s mind, and then the spectator reads the magician’s mind. This practical handling uses any shuffled deck and is incredibly fooling. The method is based on a system of tracking cards in gaming, but Paul streamlined it to make it much easier than you might think.
Shuffled Match In “Shuffled Match”, the deck helps you establish which card the spectator has chosen. As part of the explanation, Paul reveals two of his favorite false cuts are deeply deceptive.
Notes on the Three Ball Trick This is Paul’s handling of the classic effect. Small balls mysteriously appear and disappear, before a lime appears from nowhere at the end.
Masterclass 2: December 14, 2025 (4pm ET | NYC Time)
Paul’s second session has a little bit of everything. He shares two handlings of Roy Walton routines, amazing false shuffles, and multiple coin routines that are approachable and fun to perform. Throughout the lecture, Paul shares valuable advice on misdirection and how to apply it.
Roundabout This is Paul’s handling of an often-forgotten Roy Walton effect. It’s strong, straightforward, and fun to perform!
Mule Kicks Another version of a Roy Walton effect, “Mule Kicks,” is Paul’s version of Smiling Mule. Paul’s handling feels incredibly hands-off, yet somehow a freely named card still ends up between two Queens in the center of the deck.
Shuffles Closing out the card section, Paul shares a false overhand shuffle and a false riffle shuffle that are easy to learn and incredibly deceptive.
Coins Across Paul shares some of his favorite Coins Across routines that we’re confident you’ll love. Three coins travel between your hands, but there’s a surprise halfway through the routine. One of the coins doesn’t want to travel… but something else does.
Sow’s Ear This is one of Paul’s classic routines using three coins and a purse. It is strong, straightforward magic!
