Let’s Fake A Deal by Dave Arch

Let's Fake A Deal by Dave Arch : Lybrary.com

As you might be able to tell from my other writings, I thoroughly enjoy collecting and creating generic methods that are customizable to a wide variety of themes and audiences. Let’s Fake A Deal has proven itself on many occasions to fit that description.

Although technically it’s a minimal prep and 100% no-sleight method for the classic Bank Night premise, I’ve customized it through the prizes I give away (and don’t give away) and by what I write on the outside of the large #10 business envelopes. I’ve had single words written on the envelopes, and I’ve had a phrase written on the envelopes (with one word on each envelope) which the audience reads aloud.

In a corporate or association environment immediately after the winning participant enjoys their final prize of something like “A Heartfelt Round Of Applause,” a simple closing statement for the routine from me to the effect of “And that’s how we saved on this year’s budget!” consistently elicits a hearty laugh from the audience and brings the routine to a strong end.

Throwing a set of these envelopes in with your show props enables you to prepare and have a customized/personalized routine – preparing it based on something you heard or learned even after you arrived at the show’s location.
