Aldo Colombini – Card Tricks with the Tenkai Move

Card Tricks with the Tenkai Move by Aldo Colombini

Before moving to the US, Aldo Colombini wrote several books in Italian. These books contain tricks and routines that have never been published in English. So, we decided to gradually make these works available in English. As friends of the late Aldo, we believe that none of his wonderful creations should be lost. This is the first translation. If there is a good reception, we will continue this work.

From the introduction

The Tenkai Turn Over has been only sparingly used in modern card magic (at least as far as I know). It is a secret move that allows you to perform the effect known as Triumph – from a trick by Dai Vernon featured in the famous Stars of Magic series. In this effect, cards mixed face up and face down ultimately all end up facing the same direction.

All the following routines (except one) exploit this brilliant move, a clever ruse invented by the Japanese magician Tenkai. I believe I’ve only scratched the surface in this manuscript, as the possibilities are endless.

In the book you will find the following routines:

  • The Basic Move
  • Shazam
  • Peace Pipe
  • Atlantis
  • FBI
  • Geronimo
  • Nivram
  • Saw

Seven wonderful routines, easy to learn and to perform, that will improve any magician’s card repertoire. Thank you, Aldo!
