Ping-Pong Predictions by Raphael Czaja

Ping-Pong Predictions by Raphaël Czaja

A prediction is lying on the table. The magician asks a spectator to cut a shuffled deck in three parts and to pile them up. Then, he removes the Jokers as he explains that he and the spectator are going to choose a card through an elimination procedure. To do so, he deals the cards in two piles and asks the spectator to choose one. They are left with one half of the deck. The magician deals the cards again and chooses a pile this time. They are now left with a quarter of the deck. The procedure is repeated a couple of times again (once with the spectator choosing a pile and once with the magician doing the same) until they are left with just a few cards. The magician deals the remaining cards in a row and asks the spectator to choose a card first, before the magician chooses one for himself. Finally, the magician gives the prediction to the spectator and asks him to read it out loud:

“I get the 7 of Spades. You get the 4 of Clubs.”

Both cards are turned face up: The spectator’s is the 7 of Spades and the magician’s is the 4 of Clubs.

The spectator always starts the elimination procedure and always chooses their last card before the magician. Easy to do. No gaffed card. No marking system. No switch. Two versions.
